Sorry I've been missing in action for too long. Between working and falling sick, I haven't been online much at all. The best company I've got are my two pet rats - Ellen and Portia. People often give me the funny eye when they hear that I have two pet rats. A girlfriend from work hasn't stopped teasing me about them since she found out - "because what every independent girl with an awesome apartment needs is two pet rats".
Rats really are not quite the rodents people make them out to be. In all honesty, I was a bit apprehensive about them at first too. They really are not the conventional pets people get; like dogs and cats. But they are every bit as affectionate (more than a cat, I'd say), intelligent and clean (if not cleaner) as any other pets. You can actually train a rat, the same way you train your dog to sit, turn-around and fetch, such as in the following video!
