Firstly, apologies for the lack of contributing to this blog. Work and CNY have made life hectic. Chezz came to visit which was the best! We tried to think of every possible way for her to bring me back to Perth. Haha, it was good to see her though. I'm planning to make a trip down soon.
Since it won at the Golden Globes, The Artist is finally getting a lot more hype. I'm sure tons of people knew about it before too but when my grandpa has heard about it, you know it's getting out there.
Just before 2011 came to a close, I went to catch it. I was a bit reluctant to go at first because it's a silent film. And I, am not silent. Fear that I would fart or sneeze or giggle at an inappropriate time gripped me. But after some coxing (the trailer is really interesting) I gave in.
Who thought that a silent film, in an era where we have 3D & animation & sound technology that people of the 1920s couldn't even dream of, could make an impact now. It really was surprisingly easy to watch, you will have no problem relating to it. Plus there's tons of stunning outfits. I WANT THEM ALL. (About to burst into hipster rant but shall resist.)
I leave you with the trailer to seduce you to the cinemas
