I do realise I haven't been the most productive on the blog the last couple of weeks due to exams and spending some time with friends before they fly home for the holidays. Anyway, it's officially Summer here in Perth and I can't say it's my favourite season of the year. Whilst everybody's sun kissed from displaying their surf bods on the beach, I'm still rocking my uneven skin tone (the usual pasty white body and tanned arms and thighs).. Hopefully, all that's gonna change; I intend to bask in the sun before I start on my new job.
Also on my agenda, now that exams are over, I'm thinking of picking up some conversational French. I've always thought it to be a sexy and romantic language. I once had a conversation with the maintenance guy in my apartment building and he pointed out that the tone and pronunciation of French words are so much more passionate, and quite unlike the monotonous and short-syllabused English words. He gave an example of the French or Italian Opera as compared to an English Opera, even when they are singing of the same thing, about love, French or Italian Opera exudes so much more emotions than English Opera, which I thought was kinda true.
And since we're on the topic of the French language, I feel compelled to share some of the works of French photographer Georges Dambier. Born in 1925, Paris, Dambier learnt drawing and graphic design when he first worked for painter, Paul Collin. His first encounter with photography was when he was working as an assistant to Willy Rizzo, a famous portraitist photographer, where he learnt of the fundaments of lightings. Since then he worked as a magazine photo-reporter and eventually branched into a fashion photographer for Elle magazine. Here are some of his famous works, which I absolutely love!

AHH! Just yesterday I was telling mum that I should really give German another go.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds. Together, we can rule Europe!
Haha! P and I are playing board games online but the server is in German, and he attempted to speak it.. Really badly. Didn't sound a tab bit like German. Yes, we shall! And then travel Europe again! x
