The elephants go marching one by one hurrah! Hurrah!

Initially, I was going to blog about the Versace for H&M that started yesterday. I was privileged enough to have seen the entire collection when I followed a friend up to their showroom at Wisma last month. I fell in love with the beautiful studded leather dress instantly. Unfortunately, I have not even gotten my first pay cheque and even if I could afford it, there is no way I would have queued overnight to go in for 10minutes. It's a known fact that I need at least half an hour to make a sound decision! So I am going to throw a temper tantrum and request you go visit the site yourselves and join me in moping for beautiful clothes we cannot have.

Instead, let us concentrate on the happier things in life. For instance, this Tuesday, Hands (it's a friend's nick-name. I don't regard my hands as a separate part of my being) and I went to see the Elephant Parade! It would have been amazing if actual elephants were walking down the street but that will have to wait for when I run away to the circus.

All you have to do is download the Elephant Parade Trail and look for the elephants! The pictures above are the ones outside the Esplanade, there were more across the bridge at the merlion park but it was getting late and we had to get to Tangs.

At Tangs we hit the mother-load! There were elephants everywhere! Which meant crazy snapping of pictures (extremely embarrassing if you know how crowded Orchard Road is). They have set up a shop where they sell replicas of all the elephants in various sizes. What I had my eye on was the Art Box which gives you a 15cm elephant and a painting set to design your own!

Beyond the colorful elephants and amazing souvenirs, the Elephant Parade is about spreading awareness of the endangered Asian Elephants. At the end of the exhibition, the elephants will be auctioned off (to this, Hands asked "WHAA how do people fit an elephant into their house") and part of proceeds go to the conservation of Asian Elephants

I once rode an elephant at the zoo, they are such massive and gentle creatures. Let's do our part to help save these incredible animals, check out their online store here or go to the main website to make donations.
And if you really need more convincing....

ARE YOU REALLY NOT GOING TO HELP DUMBO?!

Keep that junk out of my trunk,

Jazz
