Chezz has been busy studying for an exam and I'm still trying to fit into the hectic life of the working world. This distance thing is proving to be a lot more tricky than expected.
Work and exams aside, this weekend was just a little bit exciting. Last Friday was of course Black Friday. Stores were going all out with crazy sales, I read in the papers that in the US people were trampling over each other for $30 mobile phones. GEES FOLKS. DON'T GET YOUR KNICKERS IN A TWIST! Mum and I were talking about it after dinner and we both realised we didn't really know how this Black Friday thing came about. If you were just thinking the same thing, FEAR NOT! I am here to enlighten you.
The day's name originated in Philadelphia, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic which would occur on the day after Thanksgiving. This day is also the beginning of the Christmas shopping season (typing this gives me tingles in my toes). Shops all over the US offer promotional sales to kick start the holiday season.

So want to know what Chezz and I got during the Black Friday sale? You didn't really think that geographical distance was going to stop our innate urge to shop did you? Lucky for us, the wonderful world wide web allowed us to participate in this tradition.
